Moraine Lake and Lake Louise Park and Ride Shuttles

Iconic Lakes to Visit in Canada

Moraine Lake and Lake Louise are considered two of the most beautiful lakes in the world. As popular and highly visited destinations in Canada, they require careful planning for those eager to take in their breathtaking views.

Moraine Lake Road Closure

Moraine Lake

During the peak summer months in 2022, traffic flaggers were stationed around the clock to manage the influx of visitors accessing Moraine Lake Road. With the parking lot full 24/7, Parks Canada closed Moraine Lake Road to personal vehicles year-round. From mid-May to mid-October, access to the lake is available via shuttle buses, Roam Public Transit, and commercial operators, providing a more efficient and sustainable transportation option.

Accessing Lake Louise

Lake Louise Lakeshore offers parking spaces for visitors. However, bringing your Karma campervan to this famous location is not recommended. The parking lot tends to fill by 7 a.m. and remains full throughout the day. Once full, there is no designated waiting area for available parking spots. The parking fee is $21 per vehicle per day, which helps offset the costs associated with traffic management and shuttle services.

Shuttle Bus to Moraine Lake and Lake Louise

We highly recommend using the Lake Louise Park and Ride shuttle for a stress-free and enjoyable visit. This service operates between the Lake Louise Ski Resort (1 Whitehorn Road) and Lake Louise Lakeshore. If you’re staying at the Lake Louise Campground, it’s best to leave your campervan there and take the free Park and Ride Connector shuttle.

Alternatively, you can park your Karma Campervan at the Banff Train Station (327 Railway Avenue) and take Roam Public Transit to Lake Louise. If you upgrade to the Roam Super Pass, you’ll gain access to the Parks Canada Lake Connector shuttle for transportation to Moraine Lake. For more details, visit the Roam Transit website.

Moraine Lake Shuttle Tickets and Reservations

Ticket prices for the Parks Canada shuttle are as follows: $8.00 for adults (18-64), $4.00 for seniors (65+), and free for youth 17 and under.

With one ticket, you can visit Lake Louise and Moraine Lake on the same day or spend more time at whichever you prefer! The Lake Connector shuttle makes travelling between the two iconic lakes easy. A reservation is not required for the connector shuttle, and your ticket includes return shuttle service from either lake back to the Park and Ride.
